This painting was an exercise for me. It is not the way I typically paint, as it is much tighter than usual, but sometimes it is good to heighten my sense of observation. I do this with my street painting projects as well to keep up with my drawing skills. I will do this from time to time, but I enjoy a freer form of impressionism to this type of painting. Probably has something to do with my level of patience and concentration. I came to the conclusion that I maybe trying too hard for exactness instead of capturing the essence of the subject.
