Today I painted at Vasquez Rocks, a beautiful natural park between Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita. I have been there many times over the years. This afternoon felt particularly peaceful with the gentle breeze and sweet smells and sounds of the desert.
I absolutely love painting outside where I feel the solitude of nature surrounding me. I found a sense of relief in the quiet where my minds can focus while the paints swim upon my canvas.

This is one of the most beautiful paintings I've seen painted of the park. I love it for it's simplicity and the way Lorelle has captured the light. Her brush does indeed dance on the canvas.
