I'Madonnari Street painting festival in Santa Barbara, CA
This piece had a very intense effect on me while painting it over the 3 days in Santa Barbara. Hard to explain exactly, but sometimes you can go so deeply into a piece that the experience transcends the here and now. You are transported into another world. For me it was a world of memories. Thinking about my father and my brother and though they have both passed on, I wonder if there was ever any reconciliation between them. My brother was the prodigal son in many ways. I felt so profoundly as I painted the young boys face, I think that my emotions came through in it's rendering. My heart was opened by this subject matter in a very intense way.

Lorelle,
I immediately thought of you when I saw images on the internet about this street painting festival. I wished I could have seen this in reality. Must be an awsome event.
Although I have never done such an event I can imagine your feelings about it!
Warm greetings,
Petra
